White Horse

White Horse Black Mountain is a newly renovated 225-seat (4400 sq. ft.) music and arts venue in beautiful, historic, downtown Black Mountain, NC, in the midst of the spectacular Western North Carolina mountains. Founders/managers Bob Hinkle and Kim Hughes have renovated the old Chevrolet dealership into a great place to see and hear music & arts, have a drink and relax.  The venue features table seating and every seat in the house provides easy views of the stage.   State-of-the-art sound system and lighting help create concerts that you can see, hear, and enjoy in a relaxed and friendly setting.

We are a non-smoking venue with easy parking and easy ticketing. We feature open general admission seating on a first-come first-served basis.  Our concession area provides sandwiches, salads, snacks, brownies, coffee, soft drinks, and a variety of beers and wines.

White Horse has been voted as a favorite music venue by regional readers of the Mountain Xpress in each year of it’s operation.  We pride ourselves on creating a relaxed and friendly environment where you can hear quality entertainment of all varieties including bluegrass, blues, jazz, classical, songwriters, world music and just about everything else (even opera).    We host puppet theatre performances, show documentary films, Kids concerts; we also provide free celtic jam sessions and african drumming sessions.  We host Valley Fellowship by the local Presbyterian church on Sunday evenings.   You never know what you might hear and see at White Horse but you can rest assured it will be quality entertainment.


We're available for rent for your event, for parties, weddings, book signings, seminars, and other needs.
